The Annual JK Snowball
With our Snowfriend building complete, it was time to get ready for the JK Snowball! We began the week by introducing our Snowfriend to the class and giving each creation a name. We learned the "Chubby Snowman" poem and then wrote verses of our own to add to the show. We made props for the carrot, cookie, and banana verses, but it took LOTS of practice to get ready for the performance. Finally the big day came, and we headed for the library to greet our PK and SK guests. Each JK class took a turn performing on stage, and then we ended with a rousing version of "Frosty the Snowman" accompanied by Mrs. Petersen and Mrs. Mackie on the accordian - wow! The Snowfriend Parade and Treat
The JK Snowball concluded with the PK and SK friends parading by our Snowfriends! They all commented on the creative work we had done in making our Snowfriends and performing on stage. After the parade, we were treated to ice cream "snowballs" for a snack and ate in the hallway with all of our JK pals. It was a great morning!
Fun in the Snow
Our plan was to build a "real" Snowfriend outside on Friday, but the weather only provided a dusting of new snow - enough for some slippery fun down the slide but not enough to build a Snowfriend!
Still wishing for a real snowstorm,
Mrs. Jeffers
