Week of Jan. 28th

Happy Birthday, Henry!
Another fun birthday celebration in JK P105 as we helped Henry enjoy his special day turning 5.  Thanks for the yummy chocolate cupcakes for a treat!  We hope your day was a fun one!

The Wonderful World of Jan Brett
This week we learned more about our JK author, Jan Brett.  We watched short videos about her books, home, pets, and travels.  We also learned the hard work it takes to be an author and illustrator.  Did you know it takes one year for her to complete a story book?  As we heard information, we took "picture notes" to make comprehension connections.  These notes will be put on "author bags" with a darling hedgehog pet inside made from pinecones, clay, and wire - that's one of Jan Brett's favorite animals and pets!

Show and Share Night
Thank you to all the families who joined us for Show and Share Night on Thursday evening.  The children had a wonderful time setting up the room with all the things we have been learning and making signs to point you in the right direction and give you explanations.  Most of all, they loved having your undivided attention while they took you on a personal tour!  As always, thanks for your support!

Pajama Day
After a late evening at Show and Share night, what could be better than wearing our pajamas to school the next morning?  Everyone at school kept asking if we forgot to get dressed, but we knew that we had a special morning ahead with our other JK friends.  We met in the dining room in front of the roaring fireplace to hear a cozy story, sing winter songs, and say snowman poems.  Then we enjoyed milk and muffins - thanks to our snack bringers!  It was a fun day complete with playing pajama games and creating a pajama guessing game.
Thanks for a great week of learning and fun!
Stay warm,
Mrs. Jeffers

We heard all about this great PJ day! What a special treat! Especially because "PK and SK didn't get to wear their pajamas!
Looks like it's going to warm up for your Winter Hike! And you will have lots of snow and tracks to find.
Thank you for all you do!
